Sea of Okhotsk
The Sea of Okhotsk is
a frontier for petroleum exploration in the Russian Far East,
with many geological uncertainties. The Western margin contains
the proven hydrocarbon province of Sakhalin, with reservoir
quality sandstone derived from the Amur River. The limited
understanding of the hydrocarbon system in the rest of the Sea
of Okhotsk requires for further investigation.
