Russian Region
Russia contains a
number of world-class petroleum provinces and huge areas that
are poorly explored, particularly in the Arctic. The country
will inevitably continue to play a major role in world
hydrocarbon production in coming decades. The sheer size of
Russia and the variety of its geology, means that ongoing
geological fieldwork and research will be needed to support
hydrocarbon production and exploration.
