For those looking for exceptional Ballet training, the Perm Ballet Academy is one of the best places to go. This ballet school educates dancers on the basis of a state-set curriculum so students receive a well balanced education. The school is currently headed by an excellent Russian teacher – Lyudmila Dmitrievna Shevtchenko – and there are 22 other teachers who also work at the school. Each teacher specializes in one or two particular disciplines and many of them travel and teach in other schools both in Russian and abroad. These teachers also participate in stage productions at theatres which helps them to keep their skills sharpened.
